What is a
blind corner cabinet?
The cabinet you can see the front of and still cannot see inside.
The short answer
A blind corner cabinet is a base unit in an L-shaped run where an adjoining cabinet sits hard against one side, leaving a deep, dark section behind it that a standard door and fixed shelf cannot reach — "blind" because you cannot see or easily access that portion without a mechanism designed for it, such as a pull-out frame or a corner carousel.
Why the corner is blind in the first place
Two cabinet runs meeting at 90 degrees create an internal corner where one cabinet's side panel physically blocks direct access to roughly half of the neighbouring cabinet's width. A standard shelf in that space becomes storage you can see with a torch and reach with difficulty, if at all.
The two common fixes
A blind corner pull-out mechanism slides shelving out and around the obstruction into the room; a corner carousel — see what is a corner carousel — rotates shelving to bring contents to the door opening instead. Both solve the same problem differently, and which suits better depends on which side of the corner the door actually opens from.

Yes, and many are, but a significant portion of that cabinet becomes very difficult to use — most people fitting one out properly choose a pull-out or carousel mechanism instead.
Is a blind corner pull-out expensive?
It costs more than a fixed shelf but is one of the highest-value fit-out upgrades available, because it recovers storage that would otherwise be functionally wasted.
Does a U-shaped kitchen have two blind corners?
Often yes — a U-shaped layout has two internal corners, so it is worth deciding on a corner solution for each rather than only the more visible one.
