A laundry gets the leftover space, the leftover budget and none of the thought. It is also the room that annoys people daily. Ours is drawn properly and arrives assembled, so it is in the same day.
A bench you can actually fold on
The single upgrade people notice most is a continuous bench over the machines rather than beside them. Front loaders make this straightforward; a top loader does not, which is worth knowing before you buy the machine. Give it 900mm of clear run and folding stops happening on the dining table.
Built for a room that gets wet
A laundry is the wettest room in a house after the bathroom, and it is where cheap cabinetry fails first. Moisture-resistant carcasses and laser-bonded edging are standard on everything we supply, which matters more here than in the kitchen — a laundry cabinet lives with a leaking tap, a damp floor and a machine that vibrates.
Storage that takes the things nowhere else wants
Full-height broom storage for the vacuum, the mop and the ironing board. A drying rail that pulls out and disappears. A basket drawer rather than baskets on the floor. None of it is expensive; all of it is the difference between a laundry and a room with a washing machine in it.
Often part of a bigger move
Laundries frequently get done alongside a kitchen, and doing both together is materially cheaper — one design, one delivery, one installation. If you are already thinking about the kitchen, mention the laundry at the first visit rather than the last. The same is true of a walk-in robe or a vanity.

Cabinetry and a benchtop start around $2,800 for a compact run and reach roughly $7,700 for a full laundry with stone, full-height storage and fit-out. That is joinery only — plumbing, tiling and electrical are separate trades we can coordinate.
Can you fit a bench over a top loader?
Not over the lid, no. A top loader needs clear space above it, so the bench has to sit beside the machine rather than across it. If a continuous bench matters to you and you are replacing the machine anyway, a front loader is the decision that unlocks it.
Can the laundry be done with the kitchen?
Yes, and it should be if both are on the list. One design process, one delivery and one installation is meaningfully cheaper than two separate jobs, and the finishes will actually match.
Do you do under-house laundry conversions?
Regularly — it is common in older high-set Rockhampton homes. The floors are rarely level and the walls are rarely square, so we measure what is there and scribe to it rather than assuming.

Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Our own team fits it in Central Queensland; your installer fits it anywhere else in Australia. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
