SDA is not a generous version of an accessible kitchen. It is a certified build against a published standard, and the cabinetry has to survive that assessment. Assembled and checked before delivery means what is assessed on site is what left us.
Tell us it is SDA at the first conversation
The SDA Design Standard carries requirements that differ from a standard accessible kitchen, and the build is assessed against them by an SDA assessor. That changes the drawings, not just the price. Projects go wrong when a cabinetmaker is briefed as though it were an ordinary kitchen and the design category surfaces halfway through — tell us at the start and it costs nothing.
Which design category
Improved Liveability, Fully Accessible, Robust and High Physical Support each carry different expectations, and they are not interchangeable. Robust in particular changes the specification materially: the cabinetry has to take deliberate impact, not just daily use, and that is a construction decision rather than a finish one. Tell us the category and the assessor’s requirements and we will build to them.
What we build, and what we do not certify
We supply and install cabinetry, benchtops and hardware to the specification you provide. We are not SDA assessors and we do not certify the dwelling. If the assessor requires something specific of the joinery, put it in writing and it goes in the drawings — we would rather build it right than argue about it at inspection.
Supply anywhere, install in Central Queensland
SDA builders operate across the state, and most already have their own installers. We install within about 150 kilometres of Rockhampton; beyond that we supply delivered assembled with a full set of service drawings, which is exactly how we already work with tiny home and granny flat builders. Repeat specifications are held, so a second dwelling to the same design is a confirmation rather than a fresh drawing.
Built to be used hard
Whatever the category, SDA housing works harder than a family kitchen and is occupied continuously. Our standard specification — 18mm moisture-resistant carcasses, Blum hardware with a lifetime mechanical warranty, laser-bonded edging — is the right starting point for that, and it is what we would build anyway.

Yes, as supply — delivered assembled with full service drawings for your own installer. We install within about 150 kilometres of Rockhampton. For repeat builds we hold the specification so each order is a confirmation.

Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Our own team fits it in Central Queensland; your installer fits it anywhere else in Australia. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
