The standard kitchen in a new build contract is chosen to hit a price, not to suit how you cook. Upgrading it is the single highest-value change most people make to a new home — and because ours arrives assembled, it drops into the builder’s programme at fit-off without adding days.
You are allowed to use your own supplier
Most build contracts include a provisional sum for the kitchen, and most allow you to take it elsewhere. Ask your builder what the kitchen allowance is and whether it can be credited. Very often the answer is yes, and the difference between the allowance and a proper kitchen is far smaller than people assume.
We work to your builder’s programme
A new build has a lock-up date and a trades sequence, and a kitchen that arrives at the wrong moment is a genuine problem. We book against your programme, issue service drawings so your plumber and electrician rough in to the right positions the first time, and deliver assembled so installation is days rather than weeks.
Decide before the slab if you can
The cheapest time to change a kitchen is before anything is poured. Power to an island, a second sink in a pantry, or a wider opening all cost very little on a plan and a great deal once the slab is down. Bring us your floor plan early, even if you are months from needing us. The checklist sets out what to settle before the slab, when it is still free to change. Usually yes. Most contracts carry a provisional sum or prime cost allowance for the kitchen, and most builders will credit it if you supply your own. Ask early — before the kitchen is ordered — and ask for the allowance figure in writing so you can compare properly.
When should I talk to you during a build?
Earlier than you think. Ideally before the slab, because power to an island, plumbing to a butler’s pantry and the position of a window over a sink all cost almost nothing on a plan and a great deal afterwards. Even at frame stage we can still influence the services.
Will you coordinate with my builder?
Yes, and we prefer it. We work to your builder’s programme, attend site meetings where useful, and issue a full set of service and setout drawings so your trades rough in correctly the first time. Your builder gets one contact and one delivery date.
How much more than the standard kitchen will it cost?
That depends entirely on the allowance in your contract, which is why we ask for it. Our kitchens start at $15,000 and most new build clients land between $26,000 and $42,000. Subtract the allowance your builder credits and the real number is often much smaller than the sticker.

Our own team fits it in Central Queensland; your installer fits it anywhere else in Australia. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
