What "lifetime warranty"
actually covers.
A phrase used often and explained rarely. Here is what it genuinely means on the hardware carrying every door and drawer.
The short answer
Blum's mechanical warranty on hinges and runners covers manufacturing defects and mechanical failure of the hardware itself under normal residential use for the life of the product — it is a hardware manufacturer warranty, distinct from and additional to any warranty your kitchen supplier gives on the cabinetry, installation or finish. It does not cover damage from misuse, incorrect installation, or commercial-intensity use beyond what the hardware is rated for.

What it actually covers
Mechanical failure of the hinge or runner mechanism itself — the soft-close damper failing, a hinge losing tension, a runner binding — under normal residential use, for as long as the product is in service. It is a manufacturer warranty on the component, not a whole-of-kitchen guarantee.
What it does not cover
Damage from misuse or incorrect installation, wear from use well beyond normal residential intensity, and cosmetic issues unrelated to the mechanism itself are generally outside scope — this is a mechanical warranty, not an all-encompassing one.
How it relates to your kitchen supplier's own warranty
Blum's warranty covers the hardware; your kitchen supplier separately stands behind the cabinetry, installation and finish under their own terms. Ask any supplier to state both clearly rather than assuming one covers the other.

Common questions
If your question is not here, call the studio. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Ask us directly →What does Blum's lifetime mechanical warranty actually cover?
Mechanical failure of the hinge or runner mechanism itself under normal residential use, for the life of the product — it is a hardware manufacturer warranty specifically, not a whole-kitchen warranty.
Does the Blum warranty cover installation mistakes?
No — it covers manufacturing and mechanical defects in the hardware, not damage caused by incorrect installation, which would be a matter for whoever installed it.
Is Blum's warranty the same as my kitchen supplier's warranty?
No — they are separate. Blum warrants the hardware itself; your kitchen supplier separately stands behind the cabinetry, installation and finish under their own terms.
Does commercial use void the Blum warranty?
Use beyond the intensity the hardware is rated for — genuinely commercial or industrial use in a residential-rated product — can fall outside normal warranty terms. Confirm the specific rating for heavy-use applications.
Delivered assembled
The assembly is done
before it arrives.
Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Our own team fits it in Central Queensland; your installer fits it anywhere else in Australia. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
