Measured in Hay,
made to those numbers.
A kitchen cut to your measurements rather than picked from catalogue widths, packed flat for the run to Hay or delivered with the doors already hung and adjusted.
The short answer
Kitchens for Hay are drawn in Rockhampton from the measurements you send, approved by you before anything is cut, then packed flat or assembled and freighted south along the Newell Highway. The quote itemises every cabinet, the benchtop by material and metre, the hardware by brand and the freight separately. We supply only — your trades install it.

What brief does Hay actually set?
Farm houses take a kind of use that suburban kitchens do not — boots, buckets, big cooking, and a back door that is really the front door. The specification we ship assumes that rather than hoping otherwise. Irrigation-town wealth and a lot of farm housing, where a kitchen is expected to take twenty years of hard use.
What is the run to Hay?
Your kitchen is cut in Rockhampton and freighted south along the Newell Highway. Flat cartons are labelled to a numbered drawing, one per cabinet where possible, with doors and fronts wrapped separately and the Blum hardware bagged against the cabinet it belongs to. Assembled orders arrive as finished boxes, doors hung and adjusted, which takes more truck space and shows as a higher freight line. Both are on the same quote so the choice is a number rather than a guess.
Who fits it in Hay?
Your builder, carpenter or kitchen installer, plus a licensed plumber and a licensed electrician for their parts. Ask each for a licence number and check it yourself — in New South Wales that is NSW Fair Trading. Every order ships with dimensioned service drawings showing each waste, water point and outlet, so the trades rough in to the plan rather than to a guess. Our install guide sets out the three trades and the fixed order they work in.
Can I change the drawing after I approve it?
Before it is cut, yes, and changes at that stage cost nothing but time. Once the panels are cut they are cut to your sizes and cannot be re-used on another job, which is why the approval step exists and why we would rather you took an extra week over it. Read the elevations as carefully as the plan: most late changes are about where a door swings or which side of the sink the dishwasher sits, and both are obvious on the elevation.
What goes wrong with cheap cabinetry first?
In a predictable order: the edging lifts near the sink and the dishwasher, then water gets into the exposed core and the panel swells, then the drawer runners start to drag, then the doors stop lining up because the hinges have no adjustment left. None of that is bad luck. It is what 16mm standard-core board with glued edging and unbranded hardware does, and it is the reason we do not sell it.
Flat pack or assembled — which works out cheaper?
The cabinetry price is identical. What differs is the assembly line on the quote and the freight line, because assembled cabinets take several times the truck space of the same kitchen in cartons. To Hay that difference is usually decisive, and most orders this far out go flat. But the quote shows both, so it is a number you compare rather than a decision you are talked into.

The specification
Built for this
climate, not a catalogue.
Four real seasons means four cycles of movement a year. Over a decade that is what separates a kitchen that still closes properly from one that does not, and it is decided by the edging and the hinge, not by the door colour.
The same three questions decide any kitchen anywhere: board thickness and moisture rating, edging method, hardware brand. Ours are 18mm moisture-resistant, laser-bonded and Blum, and they are printed on every quote. How to judge a flat pack.

A person draws it.
Send the wall lengths, the ceiling height and a photo of each corner. A designer draws your kitchen to the room and sends the drawing back with a fixed, itemised quote — flat packed and delivered assembled, freight to your postcode on each.
- Nothing to pay to see the drawing or the quote
- Changes redrawn until the plan is right
- Cut only after you sign the drawing off
- Freight quoted as its own line, never folded in

Frequently asked
Hay — questions
If your question is not here, call the studio. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Ask us directly →Do you deliver flat pack kitchens to Hay?
Yes. Hay is served south along the Newell Highway, and freight is quoted to your postcode as its own line on the quote rather than folded into the cabinetry price.
Do you install kitchens in Hay?
No. Our own installation team works Central Queensland only. In Hay your builder, carpenter or kitchen installer fits it, working from the dimensioned service drawings that ship with every order. Our install guide covers the three trades and the order they work in.
Should I order flat pack or assembled to Hay?
Both are quoted on the same drawing. Flat cartons ship for less and get through tight doorways; assembled arrives with carcasses built and doors adjusted so your installer is fitting rather than building. Over this distance most the Riverina orders go flat.
Who can do the plumbing and electrical in Hay?
A licensed plumber and a licensed electrician, and you should check both licences yourself before they start. In New South Wales, NSW Fair Trading is the register to check against.
What board and hardware do you use?
18mm moisture-resistant board, laser-bonded edging and Blum soft-close hinges and runners on every cabinet, in every state. The specification is printed on your quote so you can hold it against anything else you are offered.
Is there a deposit to get a Hay quote?
No. The drawing and the itemised quote cost nothing and carry no obligation. Payment terms for the order itself are stated on that quote.
Delivered assembled
The assembly is done
before it arrives.
Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Your builder or installer levels it, fixes it and fits the benchtop, working from our drawings. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
