Cut to your drawing · freighted to Monto

Flat pack kitchens,
freighted into Monto.

The cabinetry that goes into a Monto kitchen is the same cabinetry we put in our own installed jobs: 18mm moisture-resistant board, laser-bonded edging, Blum hardware. What differs is that your trades fit it rather than ours.

The short answer

Every cabinet is cut to your wall lengths rather than picked from catalogue widths, then freighted to Monto south along the Bruce Highway. 18mm moisture-resistant board, laser-bonded edging and Blum hardware as standard. Installation in Monto is by your builder or kitchen installer, working from the dimensioned service drawings that ship with the order.

Custom flat pack kitchen cabinetry delivered to Monto, QLD

What brief does Monto actually set?

The nearest cabinetmaker is not close, and that changes what matters. A complete, labelled delivery with every panel pre-drilled and every hardware bag matched to its cabinet means the job does not stall waiting on one missing part from three hours away. A lot of downsizers and a lot of second dwellings on big blocks, which is why the kitchenette gets asked about here more than anywhere else.

What is the run to Monto?

Your kitchen is cut in Rockhampton and freighted south along the Bruce Highway. Flat cartons are labelled to a numbered drawing, one per cabinet where possible, with doors and fronts wrapped separately and the Blum hardware bagged against the cabinet it belongs to. Assembled orders arrive as finished boxes, doors hung and adjusted, which takes more truck space and shows as a higher freight line. Both are on the same quote so the choice is a number rather than a guess.

Who fits it in Monto?

Your builder, carpenter or kitchen installer, plus a licensed plumber and a licensed electrician for their parts. Ask each for a licence number and check it yourself — in Queensland that is QBCC. Every order ships with dimensioned service drawings showing each waste, water point and outlet, so the trades rough in to the plan rather than to a guess. Our install guide sets out the three trades and the fixed order they work in.

Would a kitchenette suit the room better?

If the room in Monto is a studio, a granny flat, an under-house conversion or a short-stay unit, a kitchenette may be the right answer and it starts at $4,500. Sink, bench, cold storage, and a cooktop where the run allows. Same carcasses and the same Blum hardware as a full kitchen, in a fraction of the length - and it fits through a doorway that a full run would not.

How do I plan around the plumbing I already have?

Keeping the sink and the waste where they are is the single cheapest decision available in a kitchen renovation, and moving them is the one most likely to find a problem inside a wall. If the layout works with the existing points, keep them. If it does not, get the plumber to look before the drawing is approved rather than after the cabinets land in Monto.

Why is the benchtop quoted separately?

Laminate ships with the kitchen. Stone does not, and it should not: a stone benchtop is templated off the cabinets after they are installed and level, by a fabricator near you in Monto, because a slab cut to a drawing rather than to the room is a slab that does not fit. We quote the cabinetry and the laminate; for stone we tell you the cut-out sizes and the fabricator works from the installed run.

Where else do you ship in Wide Bay and Burnett?

We ship to Maryborough, Gympie, Kingaroy, Childers, Gayndah, Hervey Bay, Tin Can Bay, Bargara and the rest of the region on the same route. The Wide Bay and Burnett page covers the region, and Queensland covers the state.

Building a second dwelling? Granny flat rules in Queensland.

The specification

Built for this
climate, not a catalogue.

Summers here are humid enough that the cheap end of flat pack fails at the sink and dishwasher first, usually inside five years. Moisture-resistant board and laser-bonded edging are standard on every cabinet we cut.

The same three questions decide any kitchen anywhere: board thickness and moisture rating, edging method, hardware brand. Ours are 18mm moisture-resistant, laser-bonded and Blum, and they are printed on every quote. How to judge a flat pack.

  • 18mm moisture-resistant board
  • Laser-bonded edging, no glue line
  • Blum soft-close hinges and runners
  • Cut to your drawing, not catalogue widths

Frequently asked

Monto — questions

If your question is not here, call the studio. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.

Ask us directly →
Do you deliver flat pack kitchens to Monto?

Yes. Monto is served south along the Bruce Highway, and freight is quoted to your postcode as its own line on the quote rather than folded into the cabinetry price.

Do you install kitchens in Monto?

No. Our own installation team works Central Queensland only. In Monto your builder, carpenter or kitchen installer fits it, working from the dimensioned service drawings that ship with every order. Our install guide covers the three trades and the order they work in.

Should I order flat pack or assembled to Monto?

Both are quoted on the same drawing. Flat cartons ship for less and get through tight doorways; assembled arrives with carcasses built and doors adjusted so your installer is fitting rather than building. Over this distance most Wide Bay and Burnett orders go flat.

Who can do the plumbing and electrical in Monto?

A licensed plumber and a licensed electrician, and you should check both licences yourself before they start. In Queensland, QBCC is the register to check against.

What board and hardware do you use?

18mm moisture-resistant board, laser-bonded edging and Blum soft-close hinges and runners on every cabinet, in every state. The specification is printed on your quote so you can hold it against anything else you are offered.

How long will a Monto order take?

It depends on the kitchen and the freight route, so it is stated on your quote for your job rather than guessed here. What you can plan around is the sequence: drawing, your sign-off, cutting, then freight.

Delivered assembled

The assembly is done
before it arrives.

Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Your builder or installer levels it, fixes it and fits the benchtop, working from our drawings. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
