Cut to your drawing · freighted to Biggenden

Your Biggenden kitchen,
packed flat or built.

Drawn to your room in Rockhampton and freighted to Biggenden, flat packed or delivered assembled. Same board, same Blum hardware, same drawings as every kitchen we build.

The short answer

We design and cut every kitchen in Rockhampton, Queensland, and freight it to Biggenden south along the Bruce Highway — flat packed, or delivered assembled with the doors already hung and adjusted. We do not install in Biggenden; your own builder or installer fits it from our drawings. Send the room dimensions and the quote comes back both ways, fixed and itemised, with freight to your postcode on its own line.

What does Biggenden housing do to a kitchen?

Farm houses take a kind of use that suburban kitchens do not — boots, buckets, big cooking, and a back door that is really the front door. The specification we ship assumes that rather than hoping otherwise. A lot of downsizers and a lot of second dwellings on big blocks, which is why the kitchenette gets asked about here more than anywhere else.

How does the kitchen get to Biggenden?

Your kitchen is cut in Rockhampton and freighted south along the Bruce Highway. Flat cartons are labelled to a numbered drawing, one per cabinet where possible, with doors and fronts wrapped separately and the Blum hardware bagged against the cabinet it belongs to. Assembled orders arrive as finished boxes, doors hung and adjusted, which takes more truck space and shows as a higher freight line. Both are on the same quote so the choice is a number rather than a guess.

Who fits it in Biggenden?

Your builder, carpenter or kitchen installer, plus a licensed plumber and a licensed electrician for their parts. Ask each for a licence number and check it yourself — in Queensland that is QBCC. Every order ships with dimensioned service drawings showing each waste, water point and outlet, so the trades rough in to the plan rather than to a guess. Our install guide sets out the three trades and the fixed order they work in.

Where should the cartons sit before the trades arrive?

Somewhere dry, flat and off a concrete slab. Packed panels are fine stored flat and stacked, and they are not fine leaning against a wall for a fortnight or sitting where a slab can wick moisture into them. A garage on timber bearers or a couple of pallets is ideal. Open the cartons and check them against the drawing when they arrive, then close them again.

Can I order the kitchen in stages?

Not every Biggenden job needs the whole kitchen at once. Builders regularly take the base run first and the overheads and pantry later, and renovators sometimes take the kitchen now and the laundry in six months. The drawing stays on file, so a later order matches the first exactly - same board, same colour batch where we can, same hardware. Say so on the quote request and it is priced in stages.

What cabinet sizes should I be asking for?

You should not have to ask: the run is drawn to your wall, so the cabinet widths come out of the measurement rather than being chosen from a list. What is worth deciding is the split between drawers and cupboards, because that is the difference you live with. Our cabinet sizes guide covers the standard dimensions that do matter, such as bench height and overhead clearance.

Where else do you ship in Wide Bay and Burnett?

We ship to Maryborough, Gympie, Kingaroy, Childers, Gayndah, Hervey Bay, Tin Can Bay, Bargara and the rest of the region on the same route. The Wide Bay and Burnett page covers the region, and Queensland covers the state.

The specification

Built for this
climate, not a catalogue.

Between the humidity and the summer storms, the parts of a kitchen that suffer here are the ones nobody photographs — the sink cabinet floor, the edge behind the dishwasher. Moisture-resistant board is specified for exactly those.

The same three questions decide any kitchen anywhere: board thickness and moisture rating, edging method, hardware brand. Ours are 18mm moisture-resistant, laser-bonded and Blum, and they are printed on every quote. How to judge a flat pack.

Frequently asked

Biggenden — questions

If your question is not here, call the studio. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.

Ask us directly →
Do you deliver flat pack kitchens to Biggenden?

Yes. Biggenden is served south along the Bruce Highway, and freight is quoted to your postcode as its own line on the quote rather than folded into the cabinetry price.

Do you install kitchens in Biggenden?

No. Our own installation team works Central Queensland only. In Biggenden your builder, carpenter or kitchen installer fits it, working from the dimensioned service drawings that ship with every order. Our install guide covers the three trades and the order they work in.

Should I order flat pack or assembled to Biggenden?

Both are quoted on the same drawing. Flat cartons ship for less and get through tight doorways; assembled arrives with carcasses built and doors adjusted so your installer is fitting rather than building. Over this distance most Wide Bay and Burnett orders go flat.

Who can do the plumbing and electrical in Biggenden?

A licensed plumber and a licensed electrician, and you should check both licences yourself before they start. In Queensland, QBCC is the register to check against.

What board and hardware do you use?

18mm moisture-resistant board, laser-bonded edging and Blum soft-close hinges and runners on every cabinet, in every state. The specification is printed on your quote so you can hold it against anything else you are offered.

Is there a deposit to get a Biggenden quote?

No. The drawing and the itemised quote cost nothing and carry no obligation. Payment terms for the order itself are stated on that quote.

Delivered assembled

The assembly is done
before it arrives.

Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Your builder or installer levels it, fixes it and fits the benchtop, working from our drawings. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
