An outdoor kitchen is not an indoor kitchen with a roof over it. UV, humidity and temperature swings are a different specification problem entirely.
Why indoor board does not belong outside
Standard and even moisture-resistant indoor board is not rated for sustained UV and weather exposure the way genuinely outdoor-rated materials are. An alfresco cabinet built to indoor specification will fail — swelling, fading or delaminating — far faster than the same cabinet built for the exposure it actually faces.
What changes in the specification
Weather-rated compact laminate or marine-grade materials, stainless steel or powder-coated hardware rather than standard finishes, and porcelain or stone benchtops with genuine UV stability — see is a porcelain benchtop worth it for where that material earns its cost outdoors specifically.
Covered versus fully exposed alfresco
A covered alfresco area under a solid roof faces less extreme exposure than a fully open outdoor kitchen, and the specification can be adjusted accordingly — tell us which you have so the quote is not over- or under-specified for your actual conditions.

Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Our own team fits it in Central Queensland; your installer fits it anywhere else in Australia. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
