Somewhere to hang
tomorrow.
The cheapest fittings in a wardrobe and among the most used. A valet rod costs almost nothing and gets used every day it exists.

What is a valet rod for?
A short rod that pulls out of the robe at about shoulder height. You hang tomorrow on it, or today’s outfit while you are deciding, or a shirt straight off the ironing board. It sounds trivial and it is the fitting people most often say they would not be without, because it is used daily and costs very little.
Belts and ties
Both want to hang straight rather than coil, which is what a drawer does to them. A pull-out rack with hooks holds them full length and lets you see all of them at once. Ties in particular do not recover from being folded in a drawer for a year.
Where should they go?
The valet rod near the door of the robe and clear of hanging clothes, so pulling it out does not push something aside. Belt and tie racks are better in the same section as shirts, because that is the order you get dressed in. These are drawing-stage decisions, not fit-out afterthoughts.
Is it worth it in a small robe?
The valet rod, yes — it takes almost no space and does real work. A full belt and tie rack in a small robe is harder to justify against the hanging width it uses, and a simple hook strip on the inside of a door often does enough.
How does it arrive?
Flat packed it arrives with the cabinet it belongs to and you fit it as you build that cabinet. Ordered delivered assembled, it is fitted and adjusted before the carton is closed.
Why this matters when you pick who builds it
None of this is exotic. It is the ordinary detail of specifying joinery properly, and the reason it is written down is that most quotes do not account for any of it. Someone who has not thought about the drop height on your rail, the clearance your drawer needs or where the mirror sits when it is open will still quote you a number — it will just be a number for a robe that works less well than it could have. We draw these decisions into the plan before anything is cut. That is what you are choosing when you choose who to buy from.
- Valet rod pulls out at shoulder height
- Belts and ties hang straight, not coiled
- Full-length and visible at once
- Drawn near the door and clear of clothes
- Specified per robe on your quote

In their words
The people who already
cook in one.
“For what we paid compared to what similar kitchens were costing elsewhere, we’re extremely happy with it.”
Rockhampton
“Could not be happier with our kitchen. The funny thing is, pretty much everyone who’s come over since we installed it has asked who did our kitchen and assumed we spent a lot more than we actually did.”
Gladstone
“Once we saw it in person, it was a pretty easy decision. It looked even better than we expected.”

Carcasses built square on a bench, Blum hardware fitted, doors hung and adjusted to even gaps. On site you are fixing finished cabinets to a wall, not building them on the floor. Our own team fits it in Central Queensland; your installer fits it anywhere else in Australia. Prefer to build it yourself? The same kitchen ships flat pack.
